1. What is unique about this gallery tour, that I will not be able to experience or find on my own?
The artists are friends with our tour guides and have agreed to co-host the tour. In addition in seeing the exhibited art, you will be able to see them work at their shop inside the gallery. They are looking forward in answering your questions in regards to their style, technique and work in general. In addition, many narrate the history of San Juan and Puerto Rico through their paintings.
2. How difficult is it to walk?
We paid close attention to the logistics when designing this tour to ensure we have fun while walking on shaded sidewalks when possible and have available restroom stops at 2 different sites. The tour's route was designed for participants that are 65 years of age and older; therefore, easy to walk for everyone. The walking is mostly flat with few steps. The walking distance is approximately 2 miles.
3. Will the tour take place if it rains?
Yes. The tour is designed to walk on sidewalks covered by balconies. We will spend most of the times indoors, where we would be appreciating the art exhibitions. There are also stores along the way where the guide will provide opportunities to buy umbrellas. By the way, pictures of Old San Juan come out beautifully in the rain!
4. Do I need to be an art expert to understand the content; therefore, enjoy the tour?
You do not need to be an art expert to have fun. This is a gallery hoping tour, in which you will see how Puerto Ricans tell a story through there paintings. Your friendly tour guide will provide information in a simple way.
5. Will an art expert get bored?
An art expert will fun have during our tour. The artist will be co-hosting the tour with us and they can answer any technical questions an art expert might have. We are known for designing and leading narrative and entertaining theme walking tours in Old San Juan.
