Two types of tour guides are available: a book and a professional known as a tourist guide.

A guidebook is an excellent reference source to acquire general information on the country prior to arrival.

Many travelers who have opted for the book has spent most of their vacation time reading instead of enjoying the view.

A professional will provide more and updated information.  In addition, the professional will allow you to spend more time to see and listen to everything that surrounds you.  Lots of time you are looking at pages when utilizing a book. Reading a book during your limited vacation time will divert your attention from what you came to see and experience because you will be reading instead of seeing.  With the book and a professional you may plan ahead how, what, when and where to go.

A professional can take your photos, offer additional options during the tour, if available, and solve any inconveniences.

Both options will provide you with experiences that will become cherish memories to share with friends and family.

At Legends of Puerto Rico, Inc. we think that the best function of a guidebook is to help you find a professional tourist guide

When researching consider the following:

  1. Knowledge and experience.

  2. License, certifications and endorsement.

  3. How they respond to your questions and describe their services.

  4. Will they provide references such as letters from satisfied customers.

  5. Cancellation policy.

  6. Have a code of ethics.

  7. Read travelers published feedback.

When choosing a professional tour guide a decision must be made between hiring someone who also works as a driver.  Someone like this has to pay more attention to traffic while trying to provide you with only basic scripted information.  On the other hand, a tour guide that only concentrates on you will be able to provide the information face-to-face, answer all your questions, tell some jokes and take pictures.  Someone else will be driving and looking after the vehicle.

Pre-organized group tours tend to contract a tour director, who works as a manager and tourist guide.

Everyone looks forward to having fun and relaxing during their vacation. Spend your touring time with a professional that will allow you to see more things and have more fun than just reading a book.

Legends of Puerto Rico, Inc. will make sure you have a professional tourist guide that will offer their total attention. Our especial  “Cultural Heritage Tours.”  will help make your vacation a memorable one.
