The information gathered and outlined in this article are a result of being a native resident that uses public transportation and rent cars to go everywhere in Puerto Rico and working as a professional tourist guide that listens to what the travelers’ want to do to have fun. This article is divided in the 2 types of transportation available for residents and travelers in Puerto Rico:  public and private.
 

Past Travel Tips

1. Inform yourself on the quality of the public transport at your destination.
2. The most common reason for deaths abroad is car accidents. Visitors are not always aware of the driving culture at the place they visit. 
3. Do not take any taxi you find -- check to see if it is has an official permit from the Puerto Rico Tourism. Ask the hotel reception about Fixed rates to pay when you get into a taxi.  
4. Always set a price before getting in the taxi, look for fixed rates or ask for a meter to be used. Pick up the hotel's business card. You can always present this to a taxi driver, especially if it is in a local language.
5. Program Your Iphone, android, etc with Google maps with the city's current coordinates.
