Travelers TIPS:

1. Replenish your energy with a well-balanced breakfast or lunch.

2. Refresh yourself during the tour; bring a bottle of water with you.  Keep yourself hydrated.

3. Protect your skin from the sun’s effects by using a sun block and by wearing a hat or carrying an umbrella.

4. Wear proper shoes for walking up stairs, steep grades and pavement.

5. Wear lightweight and light-colored cotton clothes to help avoid overheating.

Gratuities or tipping:

Gratuities for the tourist guide and driver are additional to the tour's rate. For half a day tour the suggested tip is US$4.00 per person for the guide and US$2.00 per person to the driver.  For a whole day tour we suggest a tip of US$6.00 per person for the guide and US$3.00 per person for the drive

Transportation Options:
 

• How to get to Old San Juan by car:  Take Road 26 towards Old San Juan. This will connect to Road 25, which leads directly to the Old City.
• Parking options:  Choose from three (3) parking lots that are in walking distance of a block to the tour's departure location. Parking fee are between USD2.50 and USD5.00 a day. Two of the parking lots are behind the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel and next to each other on Recinto Sur Street. One is next to the Princess Promenade behind the customs building.
• Renting a car outside the airport will avoid paying a 10% airport tax.

• Bus from the Condado area, you can take a 15-minute taxi ride or take bus B21, approximately a 30-minute ride.
• Bus from Isla Verde Avenue, you can take bus A5, a 60-minute one-way ride, and get off at the last stop in Old San Juan. Exit the bus terminal opposite direction toward the piers; you should be on Recinto Sur street, make a left and walk 2 long blocks.
• Bus rates are 75 cents per person. If taking the bus, please allow for waiting time at the bus stop.

• Take note cruise ship passengers, the walking tour departure location is across the street from Pier 3.  Make a left when exiting Piers 4 & 6 and a right from Pier 1.  Taxi service is need from Navy Frontier and Pan-American Piers.
